In Treatment of Bacterial infections : Abicon Oral Suspension is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections. These infections may include genital tract infections, urinary tract infections, and gastrointestinal infections, including diarrhea, dysentery, peritonitis, and appendicitis.This medicine helps clear up the infection by stopping the bacteria from multiplying and growing. In most cases, the infection starts showing improvement within 3 to 5 days of regular dosing. However, you must still finish the full course of the medicine. Stopping it abruptly may worsen your child�s condition or cause infection recurrence.In Treatment of Parasitic infections Abicon Oral Suspension is also used to treat parasitic infections such as amoebic dysentery, amoebic liver abscess, trichomoniasis, and giardiasis. How Abicon Oral Suspension works Abicon Oral Suspension is a combination of two antibiotics: Nalidixic Acid and Metronidazole. Nalidixic Acid works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Kidney

Abicon Oral Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Abicon Oral Suspension may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised if this medicine is to be taken for a long time.

Liver

Abicon Oral Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Abicon Oral Suspension may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Remain calm. Unless your child�s doctor has provided specific instructions, you can administer the missed dose once you recall it. However, if it's nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Stick to the prescribed dosing schedule and avoid giving a double dose to make up for the missed one.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Abicon Oral Suspension may cause an altered taste. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Abicon Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Your child must complete the entire course of Abicon Oral Suspension. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection. Discontinue Abicon Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed. Your doctor has prescribed this combination medicine for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery. Diarrhea can cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids to help rehydrate you.� Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours. Do not use Abicon Oral Suspension if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated. It may cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how it affects you. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Abicon Oral Suspension as it may irritate your stomach and also cause excessive drowsiness. Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
