Akme-Entoquol Tablet helps to treat diarrhea that is caused due to bacteria or parasitic worm infections. This medicine can relieve frequent loose motions and also help you to stay well by preventing them from coming back. You need to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and you should drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

Akme-Entoquol Tablet is a combination of two medicines : Loperamide and Beta-Cyclodextrin. Loperamide is an antidiarrheal medication. It works by slowing down the contraction of the intestines thereby decreasing the speed at which the contents pass through it. This allows more time for reabsorption of fluids and nutrients, making the stools more solid and less frequent. Beta-Cyclodextrin works by improving the solubility and the stability of Loperamide and thus enhances its antidiarrheal effect.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Akme-Entoquol Tablet for the treatment of diarrhea. Diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Drink plenty of fluids especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) to help keep you hydrated. Do not use Akme-Entoquol Tablet if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated. Stick to simple meals and avoid spicy rich food in order to avoid feeling sick (nausea). It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while taking and till 4 days after taking this medication. This is because drinking alcohol with Akme-Entoquol Tablet is likely to make you feel very sick (nauseated) and cause other unpleasant effects, such as hot flushes, headaches. Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours.
