Beta-Cyclodextrin works by improving the solubility and the stability of Loperamide and thus enhances its antidiarrheal effect.

You have been prescribed Akme-Entoquol Tablet for the treatment of diarrhea. Diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Drink plenty of fluids especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) to help keep you hydrated. Do not use Akme-Entoquol Tablet if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated. Stick to simple meals and avoid spicy rich food in order to avoid feeling sick (nausea). It is best to avoid drinking alcohol while taking and till 4 days after taking this medication. This is because drinking alcohol with Akme-Entoquol Tablet is likely to make you feel very sick (nauseated) and cause other unpleasant effects, such as hot flushes, headaches. Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours.
