Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of bipolar depression. It works by increasing the level of chemical messengers in the brain which improves mood and physical symptoms of depression. Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may worsen your symptoms. Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, muscle rigidity, restlessness, tremor, delayed ejaculation, anorgasmia (decreased orgasm), and low sexual desire. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. However, these are temporary and usually resolve on their own. Please consult your doctor if these do not subside or bother you. Before taking Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet, inform your doctor if you are suffering from thyroid or kidney disease, epilepsy, Parkinson?s disease, glaucoma, or any heart disease. You should not take this medicine if you are under the influence of alcohol or any sleep-inducing, cough, and/ or allergy medication. You should avoid alcohol while taking Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet, as it may worsen certain side effects. Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet can also lead to weight gain, eat a healthy balanced diet, avoid snacking with high-calorie food, and exercise regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior.

Bipolar depression
In Bipolar depression Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet works to restore the normal balance of nerve activity in your brain. It can help prevent extreme changes in mood and help you feel less agitated. You may experience fewer episodes of low mood. It can take several weeks for this medicine to work and you may still feel low during this time. It is likely that you will take this medicine for at least six months but possibly much longer. It needs to be taken regularly to work effectively. Do not stop taking it unless your doctor advises you to. You should continue to eat well and keep fit to reduce symptoms of bipolar disorder.
The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Fluoxetine and Olanzapine. They work by increasing the activity of certain chemicals called serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. These chemicals help relieve the symptoms of bipolar depression.
Alcohol
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Pregnancy
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.
Breast feeding
Seek medical advice from your doctor: Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
Not Safe: Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.
Liver

If a dose of Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.
Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
You have been prescribed Depten OZ 20mg/10mg Tablet for the treatment of bipolar disorder with depression. Take it in the evening�as it can make you feel sleepy. It may take 4 to 6 weeks to experience the full benefits of the medication. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. It may cause increase in weight, blood sugar, cholesterol, and triglycerides (fat). Eat healthy and exercise regularly. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts.
