Depression

In Depression Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet helps in maintaining the balance of certain chemicals in the brain that affect mood and behavior. This improves your mood, relieves anxiety, tension, helps you sleep better and increases your energy levels. Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet also prevents extreme changes in mood and helps you feel less agitated. You may experience fewer episodes of depression and low mood. It can take several weeks for this medicine to work and you may still feel low during this time. It is likely that you will take this medicine for at least six months but possibly much longer. It needs to be taken regularly to work effectively. Do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Diazepam and imipramine which treat depression. Diazepam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Driving

Kidney

Caution Advised: Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Caution Advised: Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended while you are taking this medicine.

If a dose of Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet for the treatment of depression. Inform your doctor immediately if you get thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life. It is also advisable to inform your doctor if you get aggressive, anxiety, trouble sleeping, an increase in activity or talking more than what is normal for you, and other unusual changes in behavior or mood. Do not stop taking Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet unless your doctor tells you to do so. Stopping treatment suddenly can cause problems and your doctor will probably want you to reduce your dose gradually when this becomes necessary. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other antidepressants. If you have hypertension, monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking Diamin Plus 5 mg/25 mg Tablet. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can check on your progress.
