Movilox 400 Tablet contains moxifloxacin, a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, atypical and anaerobic bacteria.

It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription and repair, which may reduce the likelihood of resistance compared to earlier fluoroquinolones.

Its broad coverage and good tissue penetration make it useful in conditions such as community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, complicated skin and intra-abdominal infections, and ophthalmic infections when used as eye drops.

Community-acquired pneumonia

Treats bacterial pneumonia acquired outside hospital settings, including atypical organisms such as Mycoplasma and Chlamydophila.

• Report tendon pain promptly: Pain or swelling, especially in the Achilles tendon, should be reported immediately and activity reduced.

• Inform your doctor of heart conditions: The risk of QT prolongation may be higher in those with existing cardiac conditions or on certain medicines.

• Protect skin from sun exposure: Photosensitivity may occur; use sunscreen and limit prolonged sun exposure during treatment.

• Store at room temperature: Keep away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.

• Keep in original packaging: Protects tablets and eye drops from light and humidity.
