How Bilastine and Montelukast work Bilastine and Montelukast is a combination of two medications: Bilastine and Montelukast. Bilastine is an anti-allergic medication that treats allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes by blocking the effects of histamine, a chemical messenger in the body. Montelukast works by inhibiting the action of leukotriene, another chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways, helping to prevent asthma and relieve allergy symptoms.

Common side effects of Bilastine and Montelukast include sleepiness, headache, allergic conjunctivitis, abdominal pain, upper respiratory tract infection, fever, pharyngitis, cough, diarrhea, otitis media (ear infection), influenza, runny nose, and sinus inflammation.
