Dopamine is used in the treatment of heart failure, low blood pressure, and decreased blood flow.

How it Works

How Dopamine Works Dopamine is a sympathomimetic agonist. It acts on the receptors in the kidneys, gut, brain, and heart, thereby relaxing the blood vessels in these organs. This relaxation restores blood supply and oxygen delivery to these areas. Additionally, dopamine increases urine production in the kidneys and provides protection against injury.
