How Levofloxacin and Lactobacillus work Levofloxacin and Lactobacillus is a combination of two medicines: Levofloxacin and Lactobacillus. Levofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria causing infections by preventing bacterial cells from dividing and repairing. While it effectively treats infections, it may also disrupt your digestive system by eliminating healthy gut bacteria. Lactobacillus is included to help restore the balance of healthy bacteria.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Levofloxacin and Lactobacillus include nausea, headache, dizziness, and bloating.

Expert Advice

  • Levofloxacin + Lactobacillus should be taken with or without food but at the same time every day.
  • Do not skip any doses and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better.
  • Discontinue Levofloxacin + Lactobacillus and inform your doctor immediately if you experience:
    • Rash
    • Itchy skin
    • Swelling of the face and mouth
    • Difficulty in breathing
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should resolve once your course is complete.
  • Inform your doctor if diarrhea persists or if you notice blood in your stools.
  • It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to mitigate medication side effects.
