Sodium Picosulfate and Milk of Magnesia Uses Sodium Picosulfate and Milk of Magnesia are used in the treatment of constipation.

How it Works

How Sodium Picosulfate and Milk of Magnesia Work Sodium Picosulfate and Milk of Magnesia is a combination of two laxatives: sodium picosulfate and milk of magnesia, which relieve constipation. Sodium picosulfate is a stimulant laxative that increases peristalsis, the wave-like movement of the intestines, to propel stools forward. Milk of magnesia is an osmotic laxative that draws water into the intestine, making stools softer and easier to pass.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Sodium Picosulfate and Milk of Magnesia include diarrhea and stomach pain.
