Uses
Mosapride is used in the treatment of heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux), indigestion, constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome.
How it Works
How Mosapride works Mosapride indirectly stimulates the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that enhances intestinal motility.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Mosapride include diarrhea, dry mouth, general discomfort, abnormal liver function tests, fulminant hepatitis (viral infection of the liver), and jaundice.
Expert Advice
- Take it at the same time every day, either with or without food.
- Do not skip any doses and complete the entire course as prescribed by your doctor.
- Exercise caution while driving or engaging in activities that require concentration, as Mosapride may cause dizziness and sleepiness.
- Avoid alcohol consumption.
- Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated while taking this medication.
