Sacubitril and Valsartan Uses Sacubitril and Valsartan are used in the treatment of heart failure. They reduce the risk of hospitalization and death associated with chronic heart failure.

How it Works

How Sacubitril + Valsartan works Sacubitril + Valsartan is a combination of two medications: Sacubitril and Valsartan, which belong to a class of angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitors (ARNI). This combination treats heart failure by relaxing blood vessels and making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Additionally, it helps the body retain less water.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Sacubitril and Valsartan include hypotension (low blood pressure), dizziness, cough, increased potassium levels in the blood, acute renal failure, decreased hematocrit levels, and increased creatinine levels in the blood.

You have been prescribed Sacubitril + Valsartan for the treatment of long-lasting (chronic) heart failure.
You should continue to stay active with light walking and stretching.
Maintain a healthy, low-sodium diet while taking this medication.
To reduce the chances of feeling dizzy, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
This medication may cause an increase in potassium levels in your blood.
Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as bananas and broccoli.
Inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney diseases.
Do not take Sacubitril + Valsartan if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
