Anxitab Tablet is used in the treatment of depression. It is a combination medicine which works by increasing the level of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating mood. It also calms the brain by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells. Anxitab Tablet can be taken with or without food. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor as it has habit-forming potential. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important not to stop this medicine suddenly as this may cause nausea and anxiety. Some common side effects of this medicine include constipation, difficulty in urination, dryness in mouth, increased heart rate and blur vision. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness. So, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. How it works

Anxitab Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Imipramine and chlordiazepoxide which treat depression. Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Anxitab Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of depression. It can take a week or two after starting this treatment before the effect begins to build up, and 4-6 weeks before you feel the full benefit. Do not stop taking it after a week or two, feeling it is not helping. If you develop any depressing or suicidal thoughts or ideas, you should let your doctor know about them as soon as possible. If you have diabetes, you will be asked to monitor your blood glucose level regularly as Anxitab Tablet may affect the levels of sugar in your blood. Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Anxitab Tablet can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other antidepressants. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can check on your progress.
