Betanam 1000mg Injection is an antibiotic used to prevent or treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This may include infections of the urinary tract, blood, brain, ear, skin, and soft tissue, abdomen, bone, windpipe and lungs. Betanam 1000mg Injection is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening. Rash, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea may be seen as the most common side effects. Temporary pain, swelling, and redness at the injection site may also occur at the injection site. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or if your condition does not improve despite treatment. Inform your doctor if you have any previous history of allergy or heart problems before taking this medicine. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medicine.

Severe bacterial infections
In Severe bacterial infections Betanam 1000mg Injection works by killing bacteria which can cause serious infections. It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections such as infections of lungs (pneumonia), blood, brain, ear, skin, and soft tissue, abdomen, bone, windpipe and urinary tract. It is given by a doctor or nurse into a vein and should not be self-administered. Betanam 1000mg Injection usually makes you feel better very quickly but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Betanam 1000mg Injection is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.
Alcohol
Safe: No harmful side effects are associated with consuming alcohol alongside Betanam 1000mg Injection
Pregnancy
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Betanam 1000mg Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Betanam 1000mg Injection is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
SAFE - Betanam 1000mg Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
Caution Advised: Betanam 1000mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Betanam 1000mg Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advised while you are taking this medicine.
Liver
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Betanam 1000mg Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Betanam 1000mg Injection may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.
Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C
You have been prescribed Betanam 1000mg Injection for the treatment of bacterial infections. It is given by an injection or drip into a vein or into a muscle in the buttock or thigh. Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
