It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections such as infections of lungs (pneumonia), blood, brain, ear, skin, and soft tissue, abdomen, bone, windpipe and urinary tract. It is given by a doctor or nurse into a vein and should not be self-administered. Betanam 1000mg Injection usually makes you feel better very quickly but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Breast feeding

Driving

Kidney

Caution Advised: Betanam 1000mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Betanam 1000mg Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advised while you are taking this medicine.

Liver

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Betanam 1000mg Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Betanam 1000mg Injection may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Betanam 1000mg Injection for the treatment of bacterial infections. It is given by an injection or drip into a vein or into a muscle in the buttock or thigh. Finish the prescribed course, even if you start to feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection come back and harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
