Dipnate Plus Lotion combines Betamethasone, a highly potent synthetic glucocorticoid, with Zinc (Elemental Zinc), a topical protective agent that supports skin barrier function and local healing.

Betamethasone belongs to the corticosteroid class and exerts strong anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects on inflamed skin. It works by suppressing inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins, cytokines, and leukotrienes, thereby reducing redness, swelling, warmth, and itching associated with inflammatory skin disorders. Because of its potent local activity, Betamethasone is widely used in acute and chronic steroid-responsive dermatoses.

Zinc plays an important dermatological role by forming a protective layer over the affected skin surface. It helps reduce friction, absorbs excess moisture, and supports the skin’s natural barrier recovery. • Occlusive Moisturisers or Dressings: Occlusion may increase steroid absorption and raise the risk of local side effects.

• Topical Antimicrobial Preparations: Multiple medicated products applied together may alter skin tolerance and should be used under medical guidance.

Dipnate Plus Lotion should be used carefully in:

• Diabetes Mellitus: Prolonged application over large skin areas may rarely increase systemic corticosteroid absorption and influence blood glucose control.

• Skin Atrophy: Existing thin or fragile skin may worsen with continued corticosteroid exposure.

• Rosacea: Topical corticosteroids can aggravate facial redness and worsen rosacea symptoms.

• Acne Vulgaris: Betamethasone may worsen acne lesions or trigger steroid-related acneiform eruptions.

• Viral Skin Infections: Conditions such as herpes simplex, chickenpox, or molluscum contagiosum may worsen because steroids suppress local immune response.

• Fungal Skin Infections: Steroids may mask fungal infection symptoms and delay appropriate treatment.

• Open Wounds or Ulcerated Skin: Application on damaged skin may increase absorption and irritation.

The dose depends on severity and site of application. Usually applied 1 to 2 times daily in a thin layer unless otherwise directed by your doctor.

If you miss an application, apply it when remembered unless the next application is due soon. Do not apply extra quantity.
