Metopar Suspension is used to relieve migraine headaches and to treat nausea and vomiting associated with it. This medicine may also be used in ailments where fever is accompanied by vomiting.You can give it either before or after meals. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by your doctor as that depends on your child�s clinical condition, body weight, and age.� In case your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, let the child calm down, and then repeat the dose.Metopar Suspension should be given at the first sign of a migraine attack. If symptoms persist, further doses may be given but a gap of 4 hours must be maintained between each dose. However, never exceed the total dose that has been prescribed for a day.Diarrhea, rash, restlessness, and drowsiness are some of the common yet temporary side effects of this medicine. Make sure to report to your child�s doctor if the side effects persist or become bothersome for your child.Before giving this medicine to your child, let the doctor know if your child has had any previous episodes of medicine allergy, metabolic disorder, liver impairment, kidney malfunction, asthma, or blood disorder. This information is critical for dose alterations and for planning your child�s overall treatment.

How it works

Metopar Suspension contains two medicines: Metoclopramide and Paracetamol. Metoclopramide is an antiemetic that works on the vomiting center in the brain. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraines. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause the pain associated with migraine.

What If You Forget to take Metopar Suspension?

Remain calm. Unless your child�s doctor has provided specific instructions, administer the missed dose once recalled. If it's nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed one. Adhere to the prescribed dosing schedule and avoid administering a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

Quick Tips for Metopar Suspension

If diarrhea develops as a side effect, encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids. Never give any other medicines containing paracetamol along with this medicine as that may lead to serious side effects. Do not alter the dose by yourself as it can result in unwanted side effects in your child. Do not mix Metopar Suspension with any herbal or ayurvedic preparations as it will not be effective. Stop the medicine and report to the doctor on an immediate basis if your child exhibits side effects such as itching, breathing difficulty, and swelling of the face soon after taking Metopar Suspension.
