Sinargic Tablet

Sinargic Tablet is a combination medicine containing Cetirizine, Paracetamol (Acetaminophen), Phenylephrine, and Zinc. Cetirizine is an antihistamine that helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic that helps reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that helps reduce nasal congestion by narrowing swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages. Zinc supports immune function and may help during common cold and upper respiratory tract infections. Together, these ingredients help provide symptomatic relief from common cold, flu, nasal congestion, fever, body aches, and allergy-related symptoms.

Sinargic Tablet combines four ingredients that work together to relieve symptoms of the common cold, flu, and allergic conditions.

Cetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine that blocks histamine H1 receptors, helping reduce sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, and watery eyes. It is generally less sedating than older antihistamines. Paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic, helping relieve headache, body aches, sore throat discomfort, and fever commonly associated with cold and flu. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that works by constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages, thereby reducing nasal congestion, sinus pressure, and blocked nose. Zinc supports normal immune function and may help during common cold and upper respiratory tract infections.

This combination provides short-term symptomatic relief from cold, flu, and allergy-related symptoms and should be used as advised by a healthcare professional. Caution is advised in patients with high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid disorders, liver disease, or those taking other decongestants. Do not exceed the recommended dose of Paracetamol, and avoid taking other Paracetamol-containing medicines at the same time, as overdose may cause serious liver damage.

• Marked increase in blood pressure or palpitations (related to Phenylephrine)

This medicine is usually available as tablets, and also in liquid (syrup/oral suspension) form for children or those who have difficulty swallowing tablets.

• Timing and Duration: The dose and duration of treatment may vary depending on the patient’s age, symptoms, and severity of the condition. Usually taken every 6 to 8 hours as needed, or as directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

• Method: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. For liquid form, measure the dose accurately using a dosing cup or spoon. Do not crush or chew tablets.

• With Food: Can be taken with or without food; taking it with food may reduce stomach upset.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose, as it may increase the risk of side effects, especially liver damage due to Paracetamol.

• Food (Generally Safe): Sinargic Tablet can be taken with or without food. Taking it with food may help reduce stomach discomfort.

• Alcohol: Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may increase drowsiness caused by Cetirizine and may also increase the risk of liver-related side effects due to Paracetamol.

• Other Sedatives or Antihistamines (Moderate): Concurrent (take together) use may increase drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired alertness due to additive central nervous system effects.

• Antihypertensive Medicines (Moderate): Phenylephrine may reduce the effectiveness of blood pressure–lowering medicines and may increase blood pressure.

• Other Paracetamol-Containing Medicines (Severe): Avoid using with other medicines containing Paracetamol, as it may lead to overdose and serious liver damage.

• Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) (Severe): Concurrent use with Phenylephrine may cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure. Avoid use within 14 days of MAOI therapy.

• Tricyclic Antidepressants (Moderate–Severe): May enhance the cardiovascular effects of Phenylephrine, increasing the risk of high blood pressure or irregular heartbeat.

• Warfarin and Other Blood Thinners (Moderate): Prolonged use of Paracetamol may increase the effect of blood thinners and raise the risk of bleeding. Consult your doctor before use.

• Hypertension / Heart Disease (Moderate–Severe): Phenylephrine may increase blood pressure and heart rate. Use cautiously in patients with hypertension, coronary artery disease, or other heart conditions.

• Liver Disease (Moderate): Paracetamol is processed by the liver. Excessive doses or prolonged use may increase the risk of liver toxicity, especially in patients with liver impairment.

• Kidney Disease (Moderate): Cetirizine and Zinc should be used cautiously in patients with impaired kidney function, and dose adjustment may be required.

• Thyroid Disorders (Caution): Phenylephrine may worsen symptoms in patients with hyperthyroidism.

• Diabetes (Caution): Phenylephrine may affect blood sugar control and should be used carefully in diabetic patients.

• Glaucoma / Enlarged Prostate (Caution): Phenylephrine may worsen symptoms in patients with angle-closure glaucoma or difficulty in urination due to prostate enlargement.

Since Sinargic Tablet is typically taken as prescribed by a doctor, a missed dose is usually not critical. If taken on a schedule, take the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless the next dose is due within 2 hours, then you can skip it. Never double the dose.
