This way it helps in relieving redness, itching, and swelling caused by the infection and speeds up the healing. Sofradex Cream should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. It is for external use only. Check the label thoroughly before use. It should be applied only in the affected area. In case of accidental contact with the eyes or mouth, wash it immediately with plenty of water. This medicine is generally safe with little or no side effects. However, it may cause burning, irritation, itching, and redness at the site of application in some people. These side effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own. Dexamethasone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.
