Hypertension (high blood pressure)

In Hypertension (high blood pressure) Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines namely Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide. It is generally used when one medicine alone is not controlling your blood pressure effectively. Irbesartan works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels so your blood can flow more easily. This will lower your blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is known as a diuretic (water pill) which increases urine output thereby lowering blood pressure. If your blood pressure is controlled you are less at risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide which lower blood pressure effectively. Irbesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Not Safe: Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Use of Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Liver

Caution Advised: Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

You have been prescribed Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure. It can be taken with or without food. Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, very dry mouth or muscle weakness. It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.� Use of Zognis H 150mg/12.5mg Tablet during pregnancy�or breastfeeding is unsafe. It may also decrease the risk of stroke and heart attacks.
