It helps the salivary glands to produce more saliva when used for a long time as suggested by the doctor. Salitol Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Take it regularly and at the same time each day to get the maximum benefit from the medicine. Continue taking the medicine even if you get better unless the doctor tells you to stop taking it. It is generally safe and does not usually cause any common side effects.

Salitol Tablet helps to increase the secretions of body fluids, particularly saliva and this helps to improve dry mouth due to radiation therapy. You have been prescribed Salitol Tablet for the treatment of dry mouth. Apart from using Salitol Tablet, sip water or sugar-free drinks or suck ice chips throughout the day to moisten your mouth, and drink water during meals to aid chewing and swallowing. You can also chew sugar-free gum or suck on sugar-free hard candies to stimulate the flow of saliva. Breathe through your nose, not your mouth, and add moisture to the air at night with a room humidifier. Limit your caffeine intake because caffeine can make your mouth drier. Completely stop smoking or chewing tobacco.
