Depression

In Depression Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet helps in maintaining the balance of certain chemicals in the brain that affect mood and behavior. This improves your mood, relieves anxiety, tension, helps you sleep better and increases your energy levels. Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet also prevents extreme changes in mood and helps you feel less agitated. You may experience fewer episodes of depression and low mood. It can take several weeks for this medicine to work and you may still feel low during this time. It is likely that you will take this medicine for at least six months but possibly much longer. It needs to be taken regularly to work effectively. Do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Alprazolam and imipramine which treat depression. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which works by increasing the action of GABA, a chemical messenger which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers in the brain that help in regulating the mood and treat depression.

Alcohol

Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Liver

Caution Advised: Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended while you are taking this medicine.

If a dose of Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of depression. It can take a week or two after starting this treatment before the effect begins to build up, and 4-6 weeks before you feel the full benefit. Do not stop taking it after a week or two, feeling it is not helping. Do not stop taking Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet unless your doctor tells you to do so. Stopping treatment suddenly can cause problems and your doctor will probably want you to reduce your dose gradually when this becomes necessary. Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can check on your progress. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other antidepressant. Inform your doctor immediately if you get thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life. Avoid alcohol while taking Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet. If you have diabetes, you will be asked to monitor your blood glucose level regularly as Deplam 0.25 mg/25 mg Tablet may affect the levels of sugar in your blood.
